We're for writers... are you?

Because we’re serious about writing, we are one of the few festivals to pay all festival contributors equally for their work. $100. It’s our flat fee.

Our Festival seeks to celebrate the business of writing, bringing together emerging writers of all forms and genres. We’d like to continue doing this. Enter Pen Pals, our adopt-a-writer program. Pen Pals are generous people who transform our emerging writers into tomorrow’s literary stars.

For a fully tax deductible investment of $100 you can become a Pen Pal of the 2013 Emerging Writers’ Festival. Your contribution will cover the artists’ fees for an emerging writer to appear in what may well be their first, career-launching literary event.

As well as bathing in the warm glow that comes when you make a very real difference to a developing artist (and the Emerging Writers’ Festival), as a Pen Pal you will receive an invitation to our 2013 invite-only Hidden Word Artists’ Party, and acknowledgement at the festival.
