Now in its fourth year, the Prize is a significant literary award for new and emerging writers, particularly as the winning entry will be published in literary journal, Kill Your Darlings. After a successful trans-Tasman expansion in 2014, this year the prize is again open to both Australian and New Zealand university students, enrolled in either an undergraduate or honours degree. All types of creative writing will be accepted, including short stories, non-fiction narrative and narrative verse.
Monash has been the long-term education partner of the Emerging Writers’ Festival, and the Prize strengthens both parties’ commitment to providing learning and career development opportunities for emerging literary voices.
