It’s festival tradition to introduce our Associate Producers for the year, so they can tell you a little about themselves. This will be happening over the next few weeks. So without further ado – first up is Milly.

Hi there,

How are you all? I’m Milly, one of the sparkling new Associate Producers for this year’s Emerging Writers Festival.

I am new to blogging and kind of scared of it, so please be kind.

So, a little about myself – well, I am a writer. I love being around stories. I have an overactive imagination that takes my focus most of the time. It contributes to my terrible memory but I secretly love it. I love the freedom that comes with being a writer. I dislike blank pages and they dislike me. I love to travel, be spontaneous, go places, meet people – anything that fuels my imagination.

It took me seven years to allow myself to be a writer. Now I’m currently in my second year of a Bachelor of Writing and Publishing. I really love it. I feel at home being around other creative types who talk about the most fantastical things.

I try to live my life with no regrets which is why I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to work for the festival this year. I have never done anything quite like this before so I am in that awkward, tight space between extremely excited and cripplingly nervous. I have never planned anything to such a grand scale and I kind of feel like I’m standing before a tidal wave. But I am an optimist and I am expecting great things from the festival this year (as should you!).

I hope to see you all loitering around the festival, happy and having a great time!
