This year we are thrilled, with the support of the British Council, to be able to bring our very first international guest to the festival.

Alan Bissett hails from Glasgow, and is a young writer who is rapidly gaining a large following in the UK thanks to his creativity, talent and humour. You can read his impressive bio here, however, we thought it would be more fun to let Alan introduce himself.

Alan Bissett’s Scots-Aus cultural exchange:

Alan will be appearing in several events across the festival, including First Word, Town Hall Writers’ Conference, Dirty Words and Living Library. He will also be in attendance at many festival events, and he loves a chat (and a white wine), so don’t be shy to grab him and introduce yourself!
