The blog-o-sphere is starting to get excited about the EWF. Here’s what they’re saying:

Benjamin Solah: I’m really excited for this year’s Emerging Writers’ Festival after being impressed last year. The EWF really does set itself apart from other festivals because it’s for writers and feels far more participatory than something like the Melbourne Writers Festival which is much more for readers.

Reeling Writhing: Thanks to a website revamp, it’s a lot easier to see what’s going on this year at this incredibly well-priced festival and News has come of a surprise addition to the Living Library program – Chris Meade.

Derek Motion: I’m very happy to have been adjudged winner of the 2009 overland judith wright poetry prize. looks like i’ll be down in melbourne for the EWF, to read the poem.

Matthia Dempsey: Scattered through the festival booklet are various Twitter addresses for authors, and tweeters can join the EWF’s TwitterFEST at #ewfchat; Twitter addresses and hashtags aren’t something you see a lot of at the big festivals either (though of course, one of the best things about any festival is the chance to be there in the flesh with a lot of other excited and inspiring people, and the EWF has made a name for itself providing just that).

And from our writers…

Paul Callaghan: I’m running a 2-hour writing for games workshop with Express Media on May 22nd from 2-4.   I’m going to cover the key similarities and differences between games & more traditional media and how to approach the process of games writing.

Brian Thacker: Last night I went to the program launch for the 2010 Emerging Writers’ Festival at the Wheeler Centre. I did feel a little out of place, though. And it wasn’t because I am already an ‘established writer’. Emerging writers are very cool – there was lots of groovy facial hair and hipster clothes going on.

Karen Andrews: As long-time readers will know, the EWF has a special place in my heart and I’m pleased to say that I’ll be there…

Angela Meyer:  There are tons of great events.

Gala Darling: Also, I’m going to be interviewed for the Emerging Writers’ Festival in a session called Stuck in a lift with… Gala Darling! It will be broadcast live over Twitter on Thursday 27 May at 2pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) or Wednesday 26 May at midnight (Eastern Daylight Time). Can’t wait!

Scribe Publishing: Writing about place with Patrick Cullen, Mining the personal with Jon Bauer, Taking it online with Max Barry, Write What You Know with David Carlin
